Better organization of business require sorting of mails in different folders to manage the related conversations in one place. Over the years, you realize that MAIL box tends to be full of mails from different content and multiple sources. And this is where you look for easy solutions to manage related mails in same place.
GMAIL uses the labels to manage mails. The meaning of 'Folders' in GMAIL does not mean folders in computer hard drive. But instead it applies labels to mails. Moreover, we can apply multiple labels to a mail message.
Method to create folders :Labels in GMAIL
1. log in to your gmail account and open a mail message. Select 'labels' drop down option as shown below:

3. Create a New Label:
Click the "Create new" option. Dialog box to create a new
label appears as shown below. You can also choose the check box to "nest" the label under a different
label. This acts like a subfolder, or a folder inside of a folder.
Nesting may help you to manage the folders inside a folder to manage the mails in a better way, if required.
4. Enter a new label name: The label name should be short and descriptive so that you can quickly figure out the purpose of the label. To nest your label under an existing label, check
the box as shown and select the parent label from drop-down menu.and press the 'create' button.
This creates a new 'folder' as label in GMAIL account. You can also create a label using a sidebar option.
Once labels are created, you can use settings option in gmail to manage and view the labels, as shown. It will show all the labels we have created so far and also will show an option to create a new label.
